Winchendon 3

We look to to get back at it this Saturday. We are playing Winchendon 3 at 4:00 in Winchendon.

Murdock Middle High School field has been goods to us this year. With wins in the Jamboree and the dramatic comeback win against Winchendon 2 on Monday Night Football.

Winchendon 3 is going to be a tough game. We will need to be at our best. Focus and Effort are the key words for this week. I would like to move some kids around this week, and let them play in different spots. I'm hoping this help invigorate the boys.

Please arrive at Murdock Middle High School field at 3:00 on Saturday. I will be in Fitchburg with the rest of North Middlesex football before leaving for Winchendon.

Sunday 10/4 Game Time Change

Our game on Sunday has been pushed back due to the predicted weather. We now have a 3:00pm Kickoff. Please be at the High School field by 2:00.

The High School can still postpone the game if they deem the weather is to bad. Keep checking back.

Some New Info 10/1

OK, tomorrow is Friday so the boys should wear their jerseys to school. Tomorrow night is Longhorn and Spurs night at the High School game all Pop Warner players who have there jersey on gets in free.

I would like the boys to be at the High School back practice field at 5:30. They only need to be wearing their jerseys, no cleats or pads. We will have a walkthrough practice until 6:30. At that time we will gather for the High School game announcements.

After we are announed on the field the boys are invited to stay for the game, or you can take them home at anytime.

Finally, this weekend is looking a lot like last weekend in terms of weather. Our field use is totally up to the High School Athletic department. If it is heavy rain or game will likely be postponed.

We are going to ask Wachusett if they would be able to host the games at their field on Sunday if our's becomes unavailable to us.

Makeup Game

Longhorns vs. Leominster

The North Middlesex Longhorns got off to a quick start in their victory against Leominster Sunday in the Jr Pee Wee game. The Longhorn's offense raced out to a 13-0 lead with touchdowns runs from Zack Hamilton and Jack Boudreau. Ethan Faulkner also ran hard to convert an extra point. Outstanding blocking by Zack Wheeler and John Bell allowed North Middlesex to consistently move the ball and control the clock. The Longhorns defense held off a surging Leominster squad in the final minutes to seal the 13-6 victory. The stout Longhorns defense was led by Zac Libonate, Noah Lowthers, Cam Erasmi, Aaron Berry and Tim Mahoney.

NM vs Worcester

Well this was a tough one. Worcester was a good strong team. They were we coached and played with a strong determination. The Longhorns were not short on effort, just maybe a little shocked at the play from Worcester. We will review the game and identify where we can make improvements.

Practice will now start at 5:45 with the hope we finish before 8:00 (at least that is the plan).

NM vs Oakmont

The North Middlesex Longhorns got there season off to a great start with an 18-0 victory over the Oakmont Chargers. The Longhorns used a powerful running game to score 3 touchdowns. The Offensive line of Mason Wyld, Kyle Perry, Drew Norton, Josh Levasseur, and Conor Clermont consistently made big running lanes for the Longhorns. Zac Wheeler, Jack Boudreau, and Zack Hamilton all scored the touchdowns for NM. A very active North Middlesex defense shutdown the Oakmont offense, Led by defensive stars John Bell, Tim Hunt, and Kyle Stumpf.

Great Jamboree

Wow, that was a great game. The longhorns effort of off the charts. I hope there is more of this to come.

This week the boys are back in school, so we will be changing the practices from 4 nights a week to 3 nights a week. We will be going on Tues, Wed, Thurs from 6-8.

Chelmsford Scrimmage

Please arrive before 5:30. Be in FULL uniform tonight. If you are purchasing a new Game Jersey, wear your old one. If you dont have one we will get you one.

**If any parent can video tthe scrimmage I would greatly appreciate it. Film is the best way to find areas of improvement for the kids. I would like to be able to watch the film with the kids for Thursdays practice. So if you have a video camera and can film the game it would be great.

Bring Game Jerseys Tonight

Remember to bring (not wear) your game jerseys tonight. We will be taking photos for the Central Mass certification books. Your shirts may be used for other teams pictures as well.

Thursday Practice

Well, we have been working the boys hard physically over the first 2 weeks. On Thursday we are going to be working there minds. We will have a no equipment walkthrough practice.

We are going to review already learned roles and responsibilities. I will be asking a lot of questions and hope the boys ask a lot of questions. I keep reiterating, I would rather have them stop and ask what to do, then guess and do it wrong.

Everyone should now have a playbook. Please review and ask questions.

Finally, the Patriots 1st preseason game is on tonight at 7:30, channel 4. Practice will be finished by 7:30. Please have the boys watch at least the first half of the game. Talk with them about what they see.

Allright, it is finally here. Tonight is the first night of football. Our schedule this week is Mon-Thurs nights from 6-8. Players will be wear helmets only. Next Monday Aug 10, we will start full equpment practice with full-contact.

Please be at the field by 5:45 so practice can start on time.

Upcoming events:

I am still going to the Manachester Wolves game on Friday night Aug 24. I have a few kids going, but more are welcome. Please let me know.
Thursday July 30th is equipment handout. At this time we are asking for all paperwork to be turned in. If you need to know what paperwork is outstanding just let me know and I will find out. Players will not be allowed to practice until all paperwork is in.
Monday August 3rd is the first night of practice. Practice starts at 6:00, please have the kids there by 5:45 as the first week is really hectic.

July is here

This is the month for players and coaches to prepare themselves for the long haul of the football season. I will be finalizing this years playbook and practice plan. Players will start to get in shape as they make the transitions for baseball and lacrosse to football.

We have a large turnout for the Jr Pee Wee team, and there will be a lot of competitions for positions and playing time. I will try to make this years playbook available to the players and parents some time this month. There is a lot to cover this year, as we are adding defense and special teams to our plan.

I am trying to get as many players as possible to come to the Manchester Wolves final home game on July 24th. Tickets are $10 and the money spent on the tickets goes to NMPW.
